What More to Roam Is For
More to Roam is a fundraising platform for youth travel. Campaigns on More to Roam describe a genuine trip a young traveler wants to take and ask friends and family for contributions toward that trip. Our platform is designed for authentic, personal travel fundraising — not commercial solicitation, not promotional content, and not general crowdfunding for non-travel purposes.
Permitted Content
Campaigns and content on More to Roam must:
- Describe a real, planned trip to be taken by the campaign creator
- Be honest about the trip's purpose, cost, and destination
- Be created by or on behalf of the traveler named in the campaign
- Comply with our Terms of Service and all applicable laws
Prohibited Content
The following content is not permitted on More to Roam. Campaigns or accounts found to contain prohibited content will be subject to restriction, suspension, or removal.
Fraud and Deception
We prohibit campaigns that are fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading. This includes:
- Campaigns describing trips that are not genuinely planned
- False or misleading descriptions of trip purpose, cost, or destination
- Soliciting money for purposes other than the stated trip
- Impersonating another person or organisation
- Making unverifiable financial or investment claims
Hate, Harassment, and Harmful Content
We prohibit content that:
- Attacks, demeans, or threatens individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Constitutes harassment, bullying, or intimidation
- Promotes or glorifies violence or self-harm
Sexual Content
More to Roam is a youth platform. We prohibit all sexual or sexually suggestive content. This policy is strictly enforced. Content involving minors in a sexual context will be immediately removed and may be reported to law enforcement authorities.
Illegal Goods and Activities
We prohibit campaigns that facilitate or promote:
- Purchase or distribution of controlled substances
- Trafficking, smuggling, or other illegal activities
- Circumvention of border or customs controls
- Any activity illegal in the traveler's home country or destination
Spam and Off-Topic Promotion
We prohibit:
- Duplicate or bulk-submitted campaigns
- Commercial advertising or promotion of third-party products
- Content with no genuine connection to personal travel
- Link spam or attempts to drive traffic to external sites
How We Moderate Content
Automated Pre-Screening
All campaign pitches are automatically screened by an AI classifier before being published. The classifier evaluates content across the prohibited categories listed above and returns one of three verdicts:
- Allow: Content is safe to publish.
- Review: Content is borderline or suspicious; flagged for human review before publishing.
- Block: Content clearly violates policy; not published and the campaign owner is notified.
Automated decisions are cached per pitch version. If you edit your campaign, the revised content is re-evaluated.
Human Review
Content flagged for review, or reported by another user, is evaluated by a member of the More to Roam team. Human reviewers consider context and apply good-faith judgement. We aim to complete human reviews within 7 business days of the flag or report being filed.
User Reports
Any person can report a campaign by clicking "Report this campaign" on any public campaign page. Reports can be filed for the following categories:
- Fraud or scam
- Inappropriate content
- Impersonation
- Spam or misleading
- Safety concern
- Intellectual property
- Other
You will receive a reference number when your report is submitted. We aim to review all reports within 7 business days and will notify you of the outcome at the email address you provided.
Actions We May Take
When content is found to violate this policy, we may take any of the following actions:
- Campaign pause: Contributions are temporarily blocked while the issue is reviewed. This is often used for borderline or disputed content.
- Campaign cancellation: The campaign is permanently closed. All contributions are refunded to contributors. This is used for clear policy violations.
- Account suspension: The user account is suspended. This may be temporary or permanent depending on the severity and history of violations.
In all cases, the affected user will be notified by email with the reason for the action and information about how to appeal.
Appeals
If your campaign or content has been restricted or removed, you have the right to appeal. The notification email you receive will include a direct link to submit an appeal. You can also contact us at legal@moretoroam.com.
Appeals are reviewed by a member of the team who was not involved in the original decision. We aim to respond to all appeals within 14 business days. If your appeal is upheld, the restriction on your campaign will be lifted.
For more information about appeals and out-of-court dispute resolution, see our DSA Information page.
Repeat Infringers
Users who repeatedly violate this Content Policy may have their accounts suspended or permanently terminated. We consider a pattern of violations — typically three or more substantiated violations within a 12-month period — when deciding whether to suspend an account. We reserve the right to act sooner for serious violations.
Child Safety
The safety of minors on our platform is our highest priority. In addition to the general content prohibitions above:
- All campaigns involving minors require a verified parent or guardian as responsible party
- Any content involving minors and sexual material will be immediately removed and reported to the appropriate authorities, including the Internet Watch Foundation where applicable
- Analytics tracking and profiling for users under 18 are restricted
To report child safety concerns, email legal@moretoroam.com with "Child Safety" in the subject line. Urgent reports will be escalated immediately.
