When do I have to verify my identity?

Identity verification with Stripe

Before you can publish your Trip Story and start accepting Contributions, you must set up your account to receive payouts. This is a required step to ensure funds can be transferred to you safely. We use our payments partner, Stripe, to handle this securely.

During the setup process before you go Live, Stripe will prompt you to verify your identity and connect a bank account for payouts.

Requirements for travelers under 18

If you are a minor (under 18), a Responsible Party (a parent or legal guardian) must complete the identity verification and link a bank account on your behalf. They will be asked to provide their own information during the secure Stripe onboarding process.
